The California State Series has a couple big events coming up. Nick Bruinsma, the State Commissioner for California, has officially renamed the Commissioner’s Cup Race, held annually in November, as the “Dorsey Cup Race” after our beloved Linda Dorsey, announcer extraordinaire for all things BMX.
The First Annual Dorsey Cup Race will be held at Santa Barbara BMX on November 14th. There will be a special dedication before the race and we will be selling commemorative T-shirts designed by Hot Shoppe. It will be the first state qualifier for 2010. All are welcomed to attend!
The race will be followed the next day by the California Awards Ceremony for the 2009 State Series at Six Flags Magic Mountain. All racers earn a free ticket into Magic Mountain as their trophy of the day. If a rider races in two classes, they will earn two free tickets. Parents and friends can purchase extra tickets for $25 from Mary Garcia at the track.
